Enjoy fancy and frugal dining in Toronto during this season's Winterlicious, which features reduced prix fixe menus at 175 of the city's top restaurants.

It's the most wonderful time of the year in Toronto... Winterlicious! It's simple... some of the best restaurants in the city offer three-course prix fixe menus at very reasonable prices. It is a great way to dine at some really posh spots without breaking the bank. It's also a really fun way to try something new that you may not have wanted to try at full price, and gives you a reason to explore all the different neighbourhoods of the city. If you haven't dined in the Distillery District yet, book yourself a table at Tappo, Archeo or Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill. Or if you have been meaning to check out Liberty Village but haven't made your way there, then consider a lunch at Mildred's Temple Kitchen.

So just how cheap are these meals? Lunch price points are $15, $20 or $25 and dinner prices are $25, $35 or $45. This is just for your appetizer, entree and dessert of course... it doesn't include beverages, tax or tip. Reservations are recommended, especially for the buzzier spots, so check out the Winterlicious restaurant list for 2012, pick your faves and give them a call.

Some of the hotspots on this year's list include Aria, Scarpetta at the Thompson Hotel, Brassaii, Bymark, c5 Restaurant at the Royal Ontario Museum and North 44. You can head to Sotto in the Village in Forest Hill or Lolita's Lust on the Danforth. Enjoy the flavours of Brazil at Caju or a classic chophouse meal at Canyon Creek. From Spice Route on King to Cafe du Lac on the Lakeshore, there are dozens of different cuisines and dining experiences to choose from to super casual to fabulously upscale.

There is also a Culinary Events series taking place where you can learn about different topics like pasta making or beer pairings. There are eleven events taking place at venues such as Casa Loma, Frank Restaurant @ The AGO and Calphalon Culinary Center.

There are lots of ways to learn more about Winterlicious 2012, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Visit the City of Toronto website which also provides a map to help you plan your culinary outings. You can also check out fun news about Winterlicious on Twitter at @LiciousTO
